MAN or MACHINE? Now that’s an interesting thought! In this ever demanding environment man constantly struggles to attend to its needs.
Need for shelter, need for food, need to socialize, need to breed. But hey, we could keep on going eternally...
Needs are a subjective and personal matter, but the stimuli we receive since our youngest of ages coming from our parents, our teachers, then our friends and colleagues forbid this thought attracting our focus on one thing, the one and only supposedly thing our society needs for its survival: Money.
It is amazing to see how such trivial issues like putting a roof over our heads or putting food in our mouth -really concrete stuff-, are strongly bonded to the notion of money, one of the most abstract, symbolic and yet so realistic concepts.
Because money is only a concept. A concept for valorization, for production, for reproduction. Whenever MAN is unable to evaluate the value of something in its life, he puts a price tag on it.
So here we are: Struggling money-making MACHINES working for those injected needs.
Where do I stand? I try to keep in balance, to use the machines so they won’t use me. The MUSIC in my mind is like the nature around us, touched by MAN yes, but its value can easily surpass the simplistic concept of money and reaches out to all (well, almost...).
